Before the Tosa dog was created, with the intervention of the European canine blood, the Akita Inu was a fighter par excellence Japanese.
Large (about 70 cm) did deserve praise for their unbridled courage that does not let you ever fall into certainly one of the fights where dogs get lost. Thus, the Japanese state prohibits fine specimen of this national dog came to be extinct in such a barbaric way and vetoed his participation in bloody spectacles Born and raised on the island of Honshu (Akita belongs to), the Akita Inu, a product of circumstances and geographical environment, never emigrated, and remained pure for centuries: first used for hunting of large wild animals and, later, as said, in the struggle between dogs.
Just because it is considered a national glory, as a historical monument, the government has to protect him.
Beautiful appearance and quite friendly, in recent

years the Akita Inu (perhaps discovered during the war), was received with sympathy in America and some rare examples begin to appear in dog shows in Europe. Despite his incredible strength, he is very good-natured dog and a high degree of affection.
