ERDELYI KOPO

E = ERDELYI KOPO, FROM HUNGARY





Height: 55-65 cm.
Weight: 30-35 lbs.
Eyes: Oval, oblique, dark.
Ears: Large, fallen.
Tail: Low when stopped, high when in action.
Coat: Short and strong Hair, mainly black, with possible reddish 
spots.



History:


         In the ninth century, the Carpathian region was invaded by the Magyars who, like all barbarians, took along with their arms and baggage, their watchdogs, of grazed and hunting.
          It was in this environment that developed the Erdelyi Kopo, dog of the Magyars, cruzadu with Polish and hounds also known as Hound of Transylvania. It has the best authentic features Hound: courage, tenacity, endurance, infallible sense of smell. The Erdelyi Kopo still sum to these traditional qualities an extraordinary sense of direction, through which, even if lost many miles from home, you know return with rare ease not found in other hounds.
        Hungarian hunters complete your ID card with these data: easily trainable, is content with frugal meals, becomes a beast if someone comes close to its owner and the rings. There are two varieties: long legs and short legs.
